Michael Torres, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Practitioner of Rolf Structural Integration is a New Jersey native, began his love and passion for enhancing the lives of others in 2001 when he acquired his certification from National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) for a Personal Trainer, only so that he would be able to help a friend in dire need.
During that time he developed a keen interest in biomechanics, particularly in human movement. Michael observed that many of his clients had difficulties performing basic movement patterns. This inspired him to obtain additional certifications and further his studies in corrective exercises and performance enhancement programming. His client base was mostly comprised of those with postural deviations and muscular imbalances. Even with his vast knowledge of correcting these issues, and the appeasement of his clients, Michael still wasn’t satisfied with the results. In 2006 Michael discovered the world of massage and hand manipulation. During his time and education at the American Institute of Massage Therapy, he was introduced to a specific therapy named “Rolfing”, also called Structural Integration (SI). Once hearing about what this specific bodywork was about, Michael instinctively knew this was what he was in search for to better the human body. After finding The Institute of Structural Integration in Miami Florida in 2013, Michael has never looked back.
Michael is devoted to helping his clients live their lives to fullest extent of their desires, without interference of pain and restriction in ordinary movements. He considers the Rolf Method of Structural Integration to not only be the most effective treatment for postural issues and pain, but also a guided journey for the client through his/her own body.
